Combat Skills are used to define the capabilities of each character. You are not very limited when it comes to using combat skills, however you will have to follow certain guidelines given, seeing as no one can be a master at everything. The ability you have to master CS depends entirely on your ninja/pirate rank as well as how much you're willing to type to rank that skill up. The rank of your shinobi Combat Skills are used to define the capabilities of each character. You are not very limited when it comes to using combat skills, however you will have to follow certain guidelines given, seeing as no one can be a master at everything. The ability you have to master CS depends entirely on your ninja or pirate rank as well as how much you're willing to type to rank that skill up. The rank of your character determines the amount and degree of your specialties. There is no limit on how many novice and intermediate specialties on can have.

Ninjutsu (Ninja Techniques)
No Skill: Not having any skill in this area, limits a shinobi to only completing techniques of E and D-Rank. Permitting one, to only be capable of accomplishing Academy Jutsus, which are the basic skills a shinobi must have to even become a Genin. Nonetheless, those of this caliber, have absolutely no clue of what they’re doing.

Basic: At basic level, a shinobi is capable of studying, learning; E, D, C, and B-Rank techniques dealing with the Ninjutsu arsenal. At this level, a shinobi is capable of noticing their own improvements. Though, they aren’t noteworthy as of yet, if they continue down this path - then surely they will be. The shinobi has become moderately familiar with handseals, and can tell which element a person is using (only if they have the said element). If the Ninjutsu basic shinobi knows the technique being used against them, they can most likely depict the said technique - before it is even finished. Only if the seals being done for the technique are long and complex; this works with techniques, which are five hand seals or more. When it comes down to the speed of handseals, they are capable of forming seals similar to that of a basic Taijutsu shinobi. Meaning their handseal speed is x1.5 faster than someone with no skills in Ninjutsu.

Adept: Those of this level can learn Ninjutsu techniques of all levels/ranks, including S-Ranks (Kinjutsu). At this level, familiarity with handseals are greatly noticed. Due to this great knowledge of knowing the zodiac array, the user is capable of conducting seals at x2 the speed of an average shinobi. At this level, chakra control and execution is greatly heightened. In other words, users begin to waste less chakra on their techniques, therefore using less chakra in general. Ninjutsu up to B-Rank cost half the amount of the original chakra payment.

Mastery: When achieving mastery, it is evident that a Ninjutsu master can complete handseals rather quickly. At this level, Ninjutsu users are very familiar with molding chakra and the handseals used to do so. With this high-level of skill, their seals can be done at x2.5 the speed of the average shinobi. Their skill is highly noticeable against those of basic and adept within Ninjutsu. Since the user is capable of not wasting chakra; their talents teaching them such, Ninjutsu B-rank and below; cost 1/4 of the original chakra payment. Ninjutsu of higher rank (A-Rank, S-Rank), cost half the chakra that is needed. Shinobi at this level can spend 5,000 Ryo to gain a valuable perk - they are capable of completing one-handed seals. This perk, only applies to Ninjutsu techniques

Taijutsu (Body Techniques)
No Skill: Not having any skill in this area, limits a shinobi greatly. They are only capable of of using E and D-Rank techniques, which, are just basically kicking and punching techniques; the basics. If they wish to learn more of the higher leveled Taijutsu techniques, one has to be within the basic level. It should also be noted, all shinobi who have no true skills in Taijutsu, move at a basic speed and strength; which is x1.

Basic: At basic level, once can learn: E, D, C, and B-Rank Taijutsu techniques. Showing great promise in Taijutsu, these shinobi are quicker than the average. Due to their body being physically greater than those of the norm, they move at x1.5 speed. A speed that is rather greater than the average, but nothing that can’t be matched by wise decisions. When it comes to physical attacks now, their strength is x1.5; enabling them to cause bruises and cracks within rocks (half their weight). In close combat, they can prevent people from finishing handseals, unless they have basic Ninjutsu skills.

Adept: Those of adept level can learn Taijutsu techniques of all ranks, including the powerful S-Rank techniques (Hachimon, Kinjutsu). At this level they gain something new, which is the ability to unlock some of the Chakra Gates. Though, they are only be able to access the Third Gate, at most. Like the true martial artists which they are, they are able to strike parts of the body, which they know can maximum damage. Also, at this level their speed and strength has increased greatly, becoming x2 now. Their attacks are now hard to dodge, and they appear to be that of a blur when moving. They can easily prevent a Ninjutsu basic from forming seals with this incredible speed (depending on distance). Nonetheless, their punches and kicks, can crush rock which are the same weight as them. Taijutsu up to B-Rank cost half of the original chakra payment.

Mastery: A Taijutsu master is highly advanced with anything pertaining to the physical arts. At this level, Taijutsu users are very familiar with their own body and its secrets; enabling them to open all Eight Chakra Gates (must be obtained). Though, this does not mean they can survive the side-affects of that great Hachimon arts. Nonetheless, with bringing their body to the highest peak possible, their strength and speed is now x2.5 of the regular shinobi. Making them a true force, one that can move at blur-like speed and have impressive strength; being able to crush rocks that are two times their weight; even capable of denting iron with enough force. At this level, Taijutsu up to B-Rank only cost 1/4 of the original chakra payment. Taijutsu higher (A-Rank, S-Rank) cost half the chakra amount that is needed.

Genjutsu (Illusionary Techniques)
No Skills: Not having any skill in this area limits a shinobi to techniques of E-Rank, and D-Rank. If they wish to learn any of the higher leveled Genjutsu techniques - they must first gain the basic level. Also, without any special training in this area, they can only target ones sense of vision; only causing similar ocular illusions. Ninja of this level have a basic understanding of Genjutsu. When it comes to breaking out of Genjutsu via Kai; that can only help against C-Rank techniques and below. Techinques of higher rank, will have to be broken out of via pain (breaking a finger, stabbing your leg, etc).

Basic: At a basic level, one can learn E-Rank, D-Rank, C-Rank, and B-Rank techniques of the Genjutsu arsenal. Users at this level, are capable of performing more complex level illusions that can target two of the opponent’s senses; and, they can cast two Genjutsu at the same time. Still, since their illusions are still maturing, if someone cancels out of one of the illusions, they would also be canceling out the other. Illusionists are people with a sharp mind, which is needed to perform rather believable illusions. Ninja at this stage have a better grasp of Genjutsu, and their inner workings of Kai. Genjutsu basics can only break out of C-Rank Genjutsu and below, higher will require pain.

Adept: Those at this level can learn Genjutsu techniques of all rank, including the powerful S-Rank techniques. At this level, they now have the ability to cast up to three Genjutsu at the same time. Now that their abilities have matured greatly; even if their foe cancels the first two layers of Genjutsu, they will have one more layer awaiting them. Now with this increase in skill, three of the opponent’s senses can be targeted. Basically, an adept illusionist can trick your vision into seeing something that’s not there, yet your noise is smelling it as if it were, and your ears are hearing it on top of that; causing you to believe in it greatly. Nonethlesss, one possesses an even larger level of intelligence, close to the level of a genius. They could make perfect illusions of humans, replicating everything; height, weight, hair color, eyes, and etc. Genjutsu up to B-Rank cost half of the original chakra payment. Having a better grasp of chakra control and understanding of Genjutsu, adept users of this skill can use Kai to break out of B-Rank Genjutsu. Anything higher, will need pain.

Mastery: A Genjutsu master is a highly advanced illusionist; those of this class can trick people into doing whatever they want, by just simply using illusions. At this level, they have matured within the art of illusions; they can know cast four Genjutsu at the same time. Thus, making it extremely difficult to break out of their illusions, since the target will have to cancel out all four. Also, there is no limit of the opponent’s senses that they can target within battle, causing them to be an even more greater threat within combat. Nonetheless, Genjutsu up to B-Rank only cost 1/4 the original chakra payment. Genjutsu higher (A-Rank, S-Rank) cost half the chakra amount that is needed. Since these masters of Genjutsu have a better understanding to the art, they can use Kai to break out of Genjutsu which are A-Rank; less pain is needed to break out of S-Rank Genjutsu.

Note: You must still purchase Kai: Release, even with your high understanding of Genjutsu.

Iryō Ninjutsu (Medical Ninja Techniques)
No Skill: Not having any skill within this area means you cannot use any of these skills. Iryō Ninjutsu is an art that is highly advance, which takes a lot of precise chakra control. With that being heavily noted, someone that has no skill within this field, cannot use anything, or even attempt to do so - they will fail miserably.

Basic: At basic level, one can learn E-Rank, D-Rank, C-Rank and even B-Rank techniques of this skill. They have moderately improved their chakra control, mainly due to the fact they have learn the basic art of Medical Ninjutsu. A this level, they know the basics of human body,  such as the locations of all the organs in the human body, the names - locations of bones, and how each organ functions. Though, they are still not ready to perform operations on someone; their limited knowledge being a result of such. Using medical techniques to heal others, or to fix broken bones - is what they can do, and pretty much what they should stick to. You could say that, at this level, they are like a nurse.

Adept: Those of this level can learn Iryō Ninjutsu techniques of all levels, including those of S-Rank. Since they have now improved their chakra control, reaching new heights, they have learned to spend their chakra wisely. Iryō Ninjutsu up to B-Rank cost half the chakra amount that is needed; no longer wasting chakra on techniques. Having more experience now with medical techniques, they have upgraded from nurse to doctors. They can perform basic surgeries, such as fixing internal injuries and healing damaged organs. Both hands now can be covered with medical chakra, and the Chakra Scalpel technique.

Mastery: A medical master are the surgeons of the the shinobi world, capable of performing difficult operations, even in the heat of battle. Masters know everything there is to know, especially when it comes down to the human body and how everything functions. They are capable of translating organs and healing injuries caused by the Inner Gates; or Kinjutsu in that matter. At this level, Iryō Ninjutsu up to B-Rank only cost 1/4 of the original payment. Iryō Ninjutsu higher (A-Rank, S-Rank) cost half the chakra amount that is needed.

Special Note: All Medical jutsus that regenerate and recover limbs are S-rank and can only be used by Medical masters.

Sensory (Perception Type)
No Skill: Not having Sensory as a combat style, basically means you cannot use any skills dealing with it. These arts, are rather advanced; those who are nowhere near skilled - should not even try to attempt to do so. It will be a waste of time; if they want to learn anything with this - they must at least be of basic level. Chakra sensing still requires a technique to do so, and is not passive.

Basic: At basic level, one can learn E-Rank, D-Rank, C-Rank, and B-Rank techniques of the sensory type. They have moderately improved their chakra control, due to that - they have learned a skill that can greatly improve in time. At this basic level of sensing, they are capable of sensing familiar presences and when they, themselves are being sensed. Sensors of this level, can sense targets that are ninety-five (95) meters away. You can only sense them, not depict their chakra nature(s), how large their pool is, and etc; only sense. As a basic sensor, you are capable of masking your presence from other basic sensors.

Adept: Those of this level can learn sensory techniques no matter the rank, especially the S-Rank ones. Now they have improved their chakra control to an even higher level, allowing them to sense those that are two-hundred, seventy-five (275) meters away. At this level, they are truly combat ready and considered greatly talented in this area. They are capable of masking their presence, but, they cannot use any skills or jutsus when doing so. When using their sensing abilities, they are depict different elemental users, but only if they’ve encountered them before. Being more knowledgable now, they can detect other sensors, even if these said sensors aren’t sensing, or using their abilities. As an adept sensor, you are capable of masking your presence from other adepts. Sensory up to Rank B costs half the amount of chakra to conduct.

Mastery: Sensory masters are the best trackers within the shinobi world, capable of performing in any condition. Masters know all of the little secrets there is, maximizing their stealth and sensing abilities immensely. At this level, they can spread their sensing abilities out to four hundred, sixty (460) meters. They can depict between chakra signatures of shinobi within large populations, and are able to pick someone out amongst a crowd of people. Sensors can even know when a target is lying, solely based of any fluctuation of the said person’s chakra. Outside of sensing, these masters can mask their presence, no matter the said person’s skill rank; though, they cannot hide from contact sensing (via touch). At this stage, sensors can discern A-Rank and below Genjutsu near instantly, and can tell negative and positive emotions through sensing. As a master sensor, you are capable of masking your presence from other masters. At this level, Sensory up to Rank B only use one fourth of the typical amount of chakra. Sensory of higher ranks, up to S-Rank, cost half the chakra amount required.

Bukijutsu (Weapon Techniques)
No Skill: Not having any skill in this area limits a shinobi to only basic weapons, and techniques of E-Rank and D-Rank. Which are the basic skills that every shinobi possesses. If one wishes to learn any of the higher leveled weaponry techniques; one must first gain the basic level. You may only wield weapons that are C-Rank and below.

Basic: At basic level, one can learn E-Rank, D-Rank, C-Rank and B-Rank techniques dealing with weapons. At basic level your dexterity and accuracy are at more of an improved level, and your speed with handling a weapon is faster. Basically, when handling a weapon, you are able to move x1.5 faster than the average shinobi (when it comes to handling weapons). Also, your vision has improved as well - allowing you to track movements of a standardshinobi. This does not mean you cannot keep up with a basic in another skill, though, it may be harder than the norm. From the beginning, you are given:10 Shuriken, 10 Kunai, 5 Smoke Bombs, 5 Exploding Notes, and 1 Medium Length Katana (may not be S-rank). You may only wield weapons that are B-Rank and below. Rank restrictions still apply, see weapon system.

Adept - Those of this level can learn weaponry techniques of all levels, including the powerful S-Ranked ones. At this level, compared to those who do not have any skill in weaponry your dexterity, speed and accuracy when handling a weapon are increased to the level of a Taijutsu Adept. You are given: 20 free Shuriken and Kunai (or Senbon), 10 Free smoke bombs (or 5 meter ninja wire) and bomb tags, and 1 long length katana, may not be S-Rank. You may wield any ranked weapon given you meet criteria listed in the  Weapon System.

Not only that, now you can use weapons with all sorts of abilities. When channeling chakra through your weapons [by using Hien or similar techniques, stuff like Cloud Style Flame Beheading or such which blast the chakra are not affected by this bonus] you do not have to waste it, it travels in a circular motion, between the weapon and your body there is a circular connection due to which you do not waste chakra when channeling chakra through your weapons. Your speed is now equivalent to a Taijutsu Basic. Bukijutsu up to Rank B costs half the amount of chakra to conduct.

Mastery - At this level, compared to those who do not have any skill in weaponry your dexterity, speed and accuracy when handling a weapon are increased to Taijutsu Mastery level.  You are given: 25 free Shuriken and Kunai (or Senbon), 15 Free smoke bombs (or 10 meter ninja wire) and bomb tags, 10 free Makibishi 1 long length katana, 1 medium length katana with a free C-ranked ability (can be on either sword), weapons may not be S-Rank. You may wield weapons that are ranked one grade above your own, overwriting the weapon system limitation.

People with this level are said to have the eyes of a hawk due to their great accuracy which allows them to even hit moving targets faster than they are, they can even track someone going up to the 5th Gate or higher with enough focus. Your speed is now equivalent to a Taijutsu Adept. At this level, Bukijutsu up to Rank B only use one fourth of the typical amount of chakra. Bukijutsu of higher ranks, up to S-Rank, cost half the chakra amount required.

Fuinjutsu

Fūinjutsu (封印術; Literally meaning "Sealing Techniques") are a type of jutsu that seal objects, living beings, chakra, along with a wide variety of other things within another object. An imbalance is created when an odd-numbered seal is placed on top of an even-numbered seal and vice-versa.

N/A - Without Fuinjutsu, at least the basic level, he only sealing that you can do is use the generic sealing method and seal weapons into a scroll. You can't do this in a battle though, you don't have the skill for that.

Basic - At Basic level one can learn E, D, C, B Ranked techniques of Fuinjutsu typing. You still need to write the symbols with either ink of some kind or with your own blood and you can only write them on paper. At this moment you can only seal chakra and inanimate objects, nothing else. Your skill is still not good enough for being used in battles though as it takes some time to write the seals onto the paper. Also, those who are the users of this are are quite wise, wiser than any other person and they got knowledge of all canon techniques of their element, even those which they do not know how to use. Meaning, if there is a fire release user who only knows the great fireball technique, he will also have all the important details related to all canon fire techniques.

Adept - Those of this level can learn Funjutsu techniques of all levels, including the powerful S-Ranked ones. You still need to write the symbols with either ink of some kind or with your own blood, but you can write them on any surface and not just paper. At this moment you can seal chakra, inanimate objects and living beings. The only thing that your seals won't affect are summons and chakra monsters like the tailed beasts. You can use your skills in battle since now you can write seals quite rapidly, in a matter of seconds you an complete most of the complex seals. Now you got knowledge of all canon techniques of your element, even those which they do not know how to use, and up to B-Rank canon techniques of all other elements. Funjutsu up to Rank B costs half the amount of chakra to conduct.

Mastery - Now you can write seals using chakra, ink, blood or any other substance, you can make them form on any other surface, you can seal everything and you can form complex seals in just a single second. You have knowledge of all canon elemental techniques up to the rank of A and all of the canon techniques of your element. At this level, Funjutsu up to Rank B only use one fourth of the typical amount of chakra. Funjutsu of higher ranks, up to S-Rank, cost half the chakra amount required.

Puppetry

Puppetry is a unique ninjutsu fighting style; this technique uses chakra threads to control puppets like marionettes. Any number of chakra threads can be used to control a puppet, but users with more skill can use fewer strings per puppet. While most puppeteers (傀儡使い, kugutsutsukai) would normally be able to control ten puppets at most (one per finger), one can use the Human Puppetry technique on their own body to increase the amount of puppets which they can control.

N/A - you cannot use puppetry in any way, nor can you form chakra strings.

Basic - At Basic level one can learn E, D, C, B Ranked techniques of Puppetry typing and you can make puppets up to B rank. Your puppets speed equals the speed of someone with Taijutsu basic, while your dexterity and accuracy equals the dexterity and accuracy of a weapon user who specializes in one sort of weaponry. You are given one free puppet frame, C-Rank max. Your max limit for your chakra string is 20m.

Adept - at this level you can use puppets of all levels, use puppetry techniques of all level and all of your puppets move with the speed of a Taijutsu Adept user. Also, your accuracy and dexterity are on the level of a weapon user with adept level who is specialized in a certain line of weaponry. You also gain 1 D-ranked ability for your puppet. You are given one free puppet frame, B-Rank max. 45m for chakra string. Puppetry up to Rank B costs half the amount of chakra to conduct.

Mastery - Only on this level a puppet user can use and make Human Puppets, with at least adept in Medic and Fuinjutsu they can even transform their own body into the body of a puppet. Your puppets move with the speed of a Taijutsu Mastery user. Also, your accuracy and dexterity are on the level of a weapon user specialized in a certain line of weaponry and on the mastery level. They can turn their own body into a puppet and gain special techniques unique to this form. You are given one free puppet frame with 1 C-ranked ability, A-Rank max. 75m for chakra string. At this level, Puppetry up to Rank B only use one fourth of the typical amount of chakra. Puppetry of higher ranks, up to S-Rank, cost half the chakra amount required.
